The prospectus contains the rules and regulations applicable for selection and admission to B.Tech Courses for 2014-15.
This prospectus is subject to modification/addition /deletion as may be deemed necessary by the Management, subject to further orders, if any, passed by appropriate authorities.
For genuine reasons, management will have the right to deny admission to any candidate even if otherwise eligible and such reasons will be recorded and told to the student.
Candidates are advised to visit this website of the college from 1st June 2014 onwards and appear for interview and admission as notified therein. No separate communication will be send on this account.
Selected candidates shall take admission at the specified time and date in the college after paying the tuition fee and other fees to be paid, failing which the offer of admission will stand cancelled.
Formal application forms for admission can be obtained from the College office in person on payment of Rs.500/- or by post on payment of Rs.530/- by demand draft. Application forms can also be downloaded from the website of the college. Such applications have to be submitted along with a DD of Rs.500/- in favour of the "Baselios Mathews II College of Engineering" and payable at Sasthamcotta.
The application form issued to a candidate is not transferable.
The duly filled in application along with attested copies of necessary documents shall be submitted directly or by registered post with A/D to the college so as to reach the college office with in 5 working days of the date of publication of Rank list for Engineering admission 2015 by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala. Applicants shall obtain acknowledgement indicating the Application Number from the college for applications submitted directly.
Applications submitted to the college should be complete in all respects. The candidate should fill in all the items in the Application form in his/her own handwriting.
Copies of following Certificates/Documents to be submitted along with the application.
All copies of certificates shall be attested by Gazetted Officer/Head of the Institution where the student had studied.
Application not accompanied by documents in proof of claims of reservation will not be considered in such categories. Documents/ Certificates furnished after submission of the applications will be rejected.
Following original certificates have to be produced at the time of admission. Candidate are advised to take required photocopies of all original certificates before submitting the same to the office at the time of admission.
Subject to orders issued by competent authorities, admission will be on the basis of merit only by considering marks obtained in the entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination, Kerala and marks obtained for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/equivalent subjects in the qualifying examination. This procedure will be modified suitably based on orders issued by competent authority.
Promotion to higher semester will be based on Kerala University regulations prevailing at that time.
5% seats of total intake will be filled under Tuition fee Waiver Scheme over and above the sanctioned intake. The above seats will be filled up either by Government or by the Management as agreed by the Government. Students whose family income is below 4.5 lakhs are eligible for admission under this scheme on merit basis.
In case a candidate leaves the college after taking admission, he/she will be liable for forfeiture of the fees paid and also will be liable to pay liquidated damages as per existing rules.
For Issue of Application: Immediately after the publication of XII results. For Receipt of Application: Duly filled up application form along with copy of mark list of qualifying exam (XII/equivalent) and Entrance Exam Result (KEAM-14) giving marks of Part I & Part II must reach this office within 5 working days from the date of publication of rank list by CEE Kerala.
Any grievances /complaints regarding selection and admission shall be brought to the notice of the Director of the college within 24 hours of occurrence of the grievances.
Ragging /any type of misconduct towards any student either in the college campus or outside will be considered as criminal offence and will be immediately reported to the Police. Perpetrators will not be permitted to continue the studies- The Court orders related to this subject will be strictly followed. Each student & Parent will have to complete on-line registration of anti-ragging affidavit at the beginning of each semester.
University examinations will be held at the end of 1&2 combined semester and end of each semesters thereafter for each subject of instruction as per the University schedules. There will be internal examinations conducted by the college to assess progress and to assign continuous assessment marks.
Students are to follow the college dress code (Uniform) as prescribed. Any one found violating the above instruction will be asked to leave the campus immediately and will loose day's attendance. They are also to be in Uniform when they represent the college elsewhere for attending seminars; placement drives, etc to uphold the pride and esteem of the college. Students are to display their identity cards at all times when they are in the college campus and representing the College elsewhere.
