International Women's Day (IWD), originally called International Working Women's Day, is marked on March 8 every year. This is not just another day but it is a day to appreciate and give respect to all the women who are the essence of our lives. This day is a day to honor the life, grit and determination of women. BMCE’s first ever women’s day celebration Ziua Femeii’14 was conducted on March 8th2014,Saturday.The main highlight of the program was the Chief Guest Smt.AmbikaPillai (renowned hair stylist and make-up artist).Various games and cultural events were conducted. It was also an opportunity for the students to exhibit their talents.
Choosing a career is a function of one’s attitude, aptitude, passions and preferences, and a judicious understanding of current and future industry trends and hiring trends. Eachyear BMCE holds an annual seminar “LAKSHYA” for providing Career Guidance for Twelfth standard students
The aim of this Seminar was to provide platform for the students which may assists them in improving their knowledge, skill sets & various other important qualities necessary for their Career Enhancement. We invited many schools to encourage their students to participate for this seminar.
Dr.AchuthSankar S Nair who heads the State Inter University Centre of Excellence in Bioinformatics, University of Kerala and Career Guru, Dr. B Venkitaraman extended motivational guidance on Career Development to all Students present at this seminar. Also they guided to the students that other than academic knowledge they should try to develop their learning attitude on the new trends and practical knowledge regarding business.
A science quiz was also conducted for the students who were present and the winners were awarded with scholarships.
The one day conference ‘Interfacing Technology with Spirituality’ was held at Baselios Mathews II College of engineering on 23rd of January 2016 in association with college MGOCSM unit. The inaugural ceremony was conducted in the presence of almost 200 students from engineering colleges across the state. The inauguration was done by H G Joshua Mar Nicodimos Metropolitan and College principal Prof Dr E V Nampoothiri Precided over the function.
The first session, on the topic ‘Technology towards a better society’ was led by Mr. Alexin George IPoS . In the afternoon, college staff choir presented an enthralling combination of songs. It was followed by a talk on ‘Interfacing technology with spirituality’ byRev.Fr. Dr RejiMathew, Professor, Orthodox theological seminary. The program was unique in its structure and we hope this made a change in the perspective of technically educated youth and helped them to refresh their mind and soul.
There was yet another orientation program happening on the same day in the college auditorium for 10th and +2 students. More than 100 students participated in that program which was led by Mr. Allen Denny James, Assistant Professorin Mechanical Engineering department of the college.

The aura technical fest features the crème de la crème of Engineering colleges across the country. Cutting across linguistic and regional barriers, this grand hose affair lives up to its motto-promoting technology, scientific thought and the spirit of inquiry. Three days of surfeit of beguiling actions. Here at Aura we commemorate excellence, excellence not just limited to the field of technology. Various themes portray the oblique desires of every individual. With various social initiatives, and campaigns, Aura aims at grouping together the power of youth towards a better and a sustainable India. A blend of head banging and brain teasing in almost equal proportions were on display at Aura. Students from all six Engineering courses exhibited their technical skills and intellectual propensity. During the three-day fest, there were various events in store for students. The events in the fest have been designed in such a way that they can judge the students’ mental aptitude as well as their technical knowhow, a student’s knowledge on a particular topic as well as his oratory skills are assessed.
