BMC Technologies; Officially launched in Jan 2015, is a venture of student Entrepreneur’s registered under BMC Student Entrepreneur’s Society and managed by Baselios Mathews II College of Engineering, Sasthamcotta, Kollam
BMC Technologies is an in house product development unit exploiting the benefits of Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) through Technopark-Technology Business Incubator (T-TBI) to nurture the young student entrepreneurs in order to set up an entrepreneurial eco system in the campus. This venture deals with establishing functions to support and promote innovative ideas within the campus & also to aim at product development in Applet applications, Consumer electronics, Robotics, Energy systems, Mechatronics, Instrumentation etc. BMC technologies is aimed at fostering the growth of entrepreneurship in young minds and at creating an enabling environment for startups in the campus. BMC technologies provide its young entrepreneurs with a comprehensive range of services aimed at intensifying technology utilization.
An executive committee was constituted to manage the affairs of the society. This executive committee constitutes of (1) The Administrator, BMC as the President (2) The Director, Principal & Vice Principal BMC as the Vice-Presidents. (3) The Placement Officer, BMC as the Secretary. (4) The Project Manager, BMC as the Joint Secretary. (5) The Counseling Head, BMC as the Treasurer. (6) All Head of the Department’s, Finance Officer, BMC; a nominated staff member & a nominated student member from each department, BMC as the Executive members
During the Official launch of BMC technologies; four new products developed by the student Entrepreneur’s were released. These products are now available in the consumer market, which includes (i) 7 Watt LED Bulb’s; (ii) Fully Automated Home Security System; (iii) Automatic Bell & (iv) Water Pump Auto Actuator. During every quarter of the year; BMC Technologies aims at releasing similar products developed by student ventures. BMC LED Panel lights were launched during June 2015.

In association with leading Research Organization, Pentagram Research Centre, BMCE launched a Computer Vision Research Laboratory in order to help the faculty and students to do research and publish papers in the field of Signal and Image Processing. Video Image Processing, 3D Image Processing and Knowledge Based Image Processing are the core areas of Research. We are using Logical Image Processing System version 3.0 is a collection of a number of image processing tools developed using Visual C++ and it works in Windows environment. The algorithms pertaining to most of the routines in this package have been developed in a novel logico-mathematical framework called Cellular Logic Array Processing (CLAP). This nontraditional paradigm advocates pattern-directed Search And Replace (SAR) techniques, and so, it guarantees speed and precision
LIPS has three modules: (i) Image Processing, (ii) Pattern Recognition and Analysis and (iii) Pattern Generation. A digital image is treated here as a square array configuration of a cellular automaton and the operation on it as a cellular automaton parallel updating rule. Most of the algorithms used in this package have been developed based on this idea only. The term Pattern Recognition refers here to the detection of local features like straight lines, curves, break points, angles, textures in an image. The main tool used in developing the pattern recognition algorithms is Rajan Transform which is a fast algorithm similar to Decimation-In-Frequency FFT algorithm. Pattern generation is carried out using complex mathematical formulas.
