National Service Scheme (NSS)

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunity to the student youth of 11th & 12th Class of schools at +2 Board level and student youth of Technical Institution, Graduate & Post Graduate at colleges and University level of India to take part in various government led community service activities & programmes.The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service. Since inception of the NSS in the year 1969, the number of students strength increased from 40,000 to over 3.8 million students in various universities, colleges and Institutions of higher learning have volunteered to take part in various community service programmes.

The College has two NSS units under the APJAKTU NSS Cell. The NSS units 538 & 615 of the college plays a major role in making our students responsible citizens. The aim of NSS is personality development of students through community service.Team NSS BMCE involve in various activities such as blood donation camps, nature conservation, energy conservation, general awareness programmes, medical camps, surveys, skill development programmes and other constructive activities.

Team NSS BMCE organized a three-day orientation program on "Interfacing Technology and Spirituality" in relation to the death anniversary of our beloved founder H H Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Mathews II.. The program was inaugurated by our beloved manager H G Zachariah Mar Anthonios, Metropolitan,Kollam Diocese..The three day session was handled by Rev Fr Abraham Alex Parethu

Puttukutty- an energetic motivation class was carried out by Prof Sreeraj,Placement Officer,BJI for the volunteers. Mixed with music and magic,this full day long session was a new experience for the volunteers.


Medical Awareness Session & Stem Cell Collection was organised by team NSS BMCE in association with DHATHRI STEM CELL DONOR REGISTRY.

The organ donation and transplantation system strives to honor the gift of donated organs by fully using those organs to save or improve the quality of the lives of transplant recipients. As a result of advances achieved through basic and clinical research over the past several decades, organ transplantation has become the optimal treatment for many end-stage organ-specific diseases. However, there are not enough donated organs to meet the demand. Team NSS BMCE has conducted an organ donation awareness session in association with IMA,Kollam

The main highlight of the third women's day celebration,Sakhi2K18 was,Jaanmoni Das,a transgender and Celebrity Makeup Artist.Various games and cultural events were conducted.It was also an opportunity for the students to exhibit their talents.
